Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the A Poll in Chat add-on ("App", "Service"). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service​

A Poll in Chat is a Google Workspace add-on that lets users create, share, and vote on polls inside Google Chat spaces, direct messages, and group conversations.

2. Eligibility & Account​

You must have a Google Workspace account to use the App. You are responsible for any activity that occurs under your Google account while using the App.

3. License​

3.1 Free tier​

The App is free to install and use for up to 10 polls created per user.

3.2 Paid license​

For unlimited poll creation, a one-time lifetime license is available for USD $15 via our payment processor (Lemon Squeezy).

  • The license is tied to the Google account that activates it.
  • The license is valid for the lifetime of the App.
  • Payments are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.

3.3 Grant of license​

Upon purchase, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App without the free-tier poll limit.

4. Acceptable Use​

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, or defamatory content
  • Use the App to collect personal data without consent
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App or access to it
  • Use the App in a way that violates Google's terms of service or abuses the Google Chat platform

We reserve the right to suspend or revoke access for violations.

5. Availability & Quotas​

The App runs on Google Apps Script and is subject to Google's platform quotas and rate limits. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

6. Intellectual Property​

All intellectual property in the App, including but not limited to code, design, logos, and documentation, is owned by us. Your poll content remains yours.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties​

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

8. Limitation of Liability​

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE LICENSE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

9. Modifications to the Service​

We may modify or discontinue features of the App at any time. Material changes that affect paid users will be announced via the App listing.

10. Termination​

You may uninstall the App at any time from Google Chat's app management. We may terminate your access if you breach these Terms.

11. Changes to Terms​

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via the App listing. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law​

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
